This is the $100 Google pays minimum on adsense!

I usually start my blogs with a picture and I stole this one from someone else’s blog. It shows that there are millions of developers around the world, tens of millions of “Expert users” and hundreds of millions like me with loads of enthusiasm! We are of course growing and soon there will be a billion of us at least. That is quite a market!
Its strange how we get an opinion of a company and it sticks with us. I like Google! I had a problem with them and they sent it to their escalations department and I got a polite email and help from a person. Yahoo used to be my favourite search engine – I don’t use Yahoo so much now. It took one email – threatening to close my email account with them. We English don’t like threats. Big mistake! I used to answer loads of technical questions on Yahoo answers and they got transferred to Tech.Yahoo – a sort of knowledge base. They got my knowledge free and complained abusively when I used my tiny website as a source – I meant I was the source. Ok, it was a little spamming! But quid pro quo as Hannibal Lecter said, I was helping them. I also dislike Microsoft and wish I could get into Linux – but that is a whole different story. Netgear annoyed me recently – their technical support was garbage! If you have a Netgear router and you keep getting LCP down error – call your Broadband supplier and they change a setting – and it’s fixed! Is LCP down in the Netgear “knowledge base”? Forget it! They have difficulty answering emails – everything goes through a portal (their website).
Getting back to how good Google are. They let us blog on here and add adsense and potentially make money. They support small advertisers, my website is only 15 Mb – I’ll give you the address at the end of this blog. But they even give away “virtual web space” to let you do a web site without any program and they can be quite good. My first attempt is fairly bad I admit! But then I decided to have another go. They allow you to do 5 websites on different subjects at 100 Mb each. 100 Mb is good for a personal website and well worth trying. I have just started this one. Being very English, I called it England4U! You can visit and watch it develop, well maybe evolve would be a better word! I’m putting tips and information on to help you do one too! Google are great, because as well as providing the space, some content in the form of Google gadgets, they even allow you to put adsense on and potentially earn money! That is very good, even a small amount of money is an incentive. If you just get $100 at Christmas and an education out of it – that is good! I am definitely, learning. I can’t do as much as with my usual site. But I’m learning to do more all the time. I have one page I call webz. Ok silly name – but you have to keep them short. It is basically all information about doing a Googlepages website. Before I forget you need the address to check it out:
http://england4u.googlepages.com/ . Ok, it’s not that memorable. But getting a top level domain is hard. I found one 5 characters long after a long search! I won’t tell you what it is that I’m saying for a web I’m writing. It may take a while! So Google help the little guy – but as the diagram above shows – we are a big market. The only thing they have done wrong and no company is perfect is they sent me an email saying I had clicked my own advert – I don’t think so. It can happen by accident – but I still don’t think so! Some payments seem to favour larger site owners too – especially when it comes to referrals. The little guy doesn’t have much chance at the big bonus! Overall though, they are successful because people like the company. Microsoft is successful because of restrictive practices and suspicious activities.
A company that treats all clients and employees with respect will be respected and do well and Google even at that high share price is a good investment. Of course, all companies could do better. Google miss some opportunities for expansion. The Googlepages could have been done better – I hate those wide borders – just like on the blogs! Maybe it is worse on a widescreen computer? They ought to have a online equivalent of a suggestion box – an email address for suggestions and a team of imaginative people to read them. Then reward the really good suggestions generously. That would be a great idea for most companies – especially multi-nationals. I do have a lot of good ideas. It is a shame I give them away in blogs – I wish someone would barter me something useful for them. I need a good All in One printer, a good digital camera with a 10X optical zoom – like the 5 mega-pixel Fuji film one I’m thinking of having. A few other things would be handy like a laminator. Everything else, I need a few million for – like decent health care. My ideas are worth a few million, but who would pay it?
I hope you enjoyed reading this or at the very least found it interesting. Visit the http://england4u.googlepages.com/ site if you are interested. Don’t ignore Google adsense – some of the adverts are quite good. I saw one on my site today and I can’t click my own. But the company printed postcards and for a good price for 1000. I collect them and so know they go up in value and what kind of card people like – a tempting advertisement! Also visit my tiny website that is packed with interesting stuff. I’ve just made my email address user friendly – but spam bot unfriendly! Email me with comments on my blogs, websites or just because you like nice Englishmen! Lol
Best wishes as always from England.
